Well I should have known from the start that "Big Companys" really don't care.... The next day after we were told that my wife had a brain tumor and it had to come out , I called in to tell my supervisor, (__ ____-Straw Boss) but all he seemed worried about was for ME to get someone lined up to run the route for the next day. I had 3 children to console and myself and now I had to worry about the "route" . But I did thanks to Robert Craft , a new temp driver, he told me to stop worrying and he would handle everything.The next couple of years it wasn't unbearable just the usual bull that goes along with working for yourself....... But probably in April 2002 my wife was getting worse, I had to have someone stay with her all the time as she couldn't get up or do anything for herself.
I had a temp driver I paid to learn my route so he could take over for a month or so because I knew my wife was getting worse. Then on friday (the day before he was sapose to start on Monday for me) he came up with a contract he wonted me to look over, the straw boss had been talking to him and must have told him about a little bonus check we get once a month , because he wonted 75% of that also, I was already going to pay him $450 a week , but I had fuel, repairs, oil changes, etc. to keep up the truck already. The trucks are always something going wrong with them. So I told ___ I could stay home and be broke, I didn't have to go through all this and be broke......
___ told me I had to work and I had to do this and that , but I guess I showed him what I HAD to do , so I just came home! It was the best call I have ever made, because I got to spend the last month and a half with my wife everyday before she died. I would do it all over again.
It seems sad that you work for a company almost nine years and no one even calls to see why you just up and quit ! But I did get a letter today from the Contractor Settlement Department worried about the decals they put on MY truck, well believe me that was the first thing I did was paint over their sign on my truck!!

after.......... so now they can stop worrying!!
